    Join WORD! and Renaissance One for this unmissable event, with Fred D’Aguiar - “one of the finest British poets of his generation” (British Council). Fred D'Aguiar spent his childhood in London and Guyana and is currently based in LA where he teaches English and Creative Writing at UCLA. He is the author of four novels, including The Longest Memory, won the David Higham Prize for Fiction and the Whitbread First Novel Award and his poetry has garnered multiple awards including being shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize.

    Fred will be supported by WORD! Associate Artist, Mellow Baku, as a solo artist and in collaboration with the Wednesday WORD!s Collective.

    Meet the acclaimed writer, playwright and memoirist Fred D’Aguiar who will support you to explore creative ways to invigorate your writing practice, develop your craft - and to consider how you move between writing for the page and preparing for performance and interaction with an audience.  

    We encourage you to bring your questions and ideas and to be open to a session that will put words, storytelling and personal expression centrestage. This session is suitable for beginner to mid-career writers whether you’re keen to be published, have published many collections, you’re keen to develop your spoken word practice or you’re interested in doing something else that’s creative with words.
