Join us for a Pride Special and first WORD! of the season - with experienced social worker turned award winning poet - Robert Hamberger, plus WORD!s own Teagan Buckley.
Robert Hamberger is a multi-award winning poet who has been shortlisted and highly commended for Forward prizes, appearing in the Forward Book of Poetry 2020. He has been awarded a Hawthornden Fellowship - and featured in The Guardian, The Observer, The Spectator, New Statesman, Gay Times - and many more. He has been included in British, American, Irish and Japanese anthologies. He has published six poetry pamphlets and four full-length collections. Blue Wallpaper (Waterloo Press) was shortlisted for the 2020 Polari Prize. His prose memoir with poems A Length of Road: finding myself in the footsteps of John Clare was published by John Murray in 2021.
Teagan Buckley (BA, MA) is a teaching-qualified illustrator and poet from Leicester, England. She is influenced by studies in Film and her experience of disability as someone with cerebral palsy. She is a fan of cartoons, coffee and music. During studies, she has been profoundly affected by using ideas of magic in literature and creativity, disruptive tales, and surrealism.
